Final Grades: |
The above categories comprise the semester average grade. The EOCT (End of Course Test) counts 15% of the semester grade. The other 10% is weighted as the teacher final semester exam. Economics does not have a final teacher semester exam; the major project will count as 10% of the semester average and it will also count as the 10% teacher final semester exam.
Policies and Procedures:
The following operating procedures reflect a thoughtful approach to creating a conducive atmosphere for learning in my classroom.
It is expected that students will attend all classes. Attending class is the only way to gain the full impact of the class and its activities.
- When a student misses class, it is the student’s responsibility to ask a fellow student what assignment(s) was/were missed. If the student needs clarification, then the student should check with the teacher.
- When a student has make-up work to complete, the work is due the next time that class meets.
- No late work; make up or otherwise - will be accepted.
- When a student misses a test or a quiz, the assessment MUST be made up within 5 school days of the absence. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! The make-up session must be student initiated.
- Major assignments (like a project or report) are DUE on the due date whether the student is in class or not. If the major assignment is not turned in on the DUE DATE, a grade of zero will be assigned.
- General classroom rules:
- Be respectful to the teacher and fellow students.
- Listen to daily, school announcements quietly.
- No eating or drinking in class, except water.
- Any major discipline problems will result in the student meeting with me who will assess what, if any, appropriate action is needed.
- DO NOT BE TARDY! (Tardy policy will be explained on the first day of school)
The instructor reserves the right to make changes course content and/or grading procedures as needed.
